Generally speaking, it is more efficient to place the food into your oven, turn your oven on, and extend your cooking time by 5 minutes. If the recepie’s cooking time is longer than 45 minuites, turn your oven off in the last 5 minutes. It will stay warm enough to finish cooking the food and in turn save energy.
