Installing Your Update

1. You will receive a notification on the oven and on the app in the next few days.

2. Open the Home Connect app.

3. Follow the instruction prompt in the app.

Note: If your oven has knobs, ensure both the program and temperature knobs are set to the "off" position.

FAQ and troubleshooting

The update process will take several hours to complete. You will be able to use the oven normally during most of the process.

During the final installation, you will not be able to use the oven for a few minutes. You can choose when to start the installation process by selecting "Update" (to start immediately) or "Remind later" in the Appliances section of the app.

If the download or installation fails, the process will need to be restarted. The update will automatically re-trigger again after a few days, and you will need to accept the download and install prompts again.

Note: Your oven will need to go through two separate updates (two downloads and two installs). This is because different electronic components will need to get updated in order to access the new features. These will happen right after another.

Error displays on the screen - E0211, E1610, E0510

If your oven displays the following error codes (E0211, E1610, E0510) during the update process press the “TIMERS” button to dismiss the error code.

If the error code does not go away, perform a power cycle* on the oven. This will clear the error code and the update will finish.

*Power Cycle the Appliance –

Turn off the break to the appliance. Wait 30 seconds. Power on the breaker to the appliance. The error should no longer be present on the screen.

Are there any requirements?

  • Must have a Home Connect account and have their ovens paired in order to be able to receive the update.
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection will help ensure a successful download
  • The download file is small (~40mb)

Can the I use the oven during the FW update?

  • During download (~10 hours) you will be able to use the oven normally.  Using the oven will pause the download.  It will resume automatically when the oven is not in use.
  • During installation (~10 mins) you will not be able to use the oven.

When can the I start this process?

  • As soon as the you get a notification that an update is available, you can begin the process when ever through the app.
  • We are rolling this out in waves to our customers so it may take a couple days for the update to be available on your oven.

How long will the process take?

  • Download time depends on the speed of the internet communication and how much the oven is used during download phase.
    • The first updates download time is a couple minutes, the second will take between ~4-10 hours.
    • Installation time for both is ~5 minutes or less
  • Download size is small (~40mb), however it takes a while to transfer the files between internal components during download phase, which is why it can take so long.

What should I not do?

  • Cutting off power or disabling Wi-Fi will interrupt the download and install.  If this occurs the oven will resume the process as soon as connection regained.  However, in some case this may cause failure and require the user to start the process again (you will get a prompt in the app)

What will show up on the oven?

  • A screen informing about update is shown (referring to the app for a possible download interaction)
  • A screen asking for installation permission is shown
  • A screen informing about an ongoing installation is shown
  • A screen informing about a successful installation is shown  or a screen informing about a not successful installation is shown

What will show up on the app?

  • Depending on the user account configuration (performing automatic download yes or no) a screen for requesting the download will be shown
  • A screen asking the installation permission is shown
  • A message about installation success/ failed is shown
  • If a software update is withdrawn a message is shown

What happens if download fails

  • User might be asked to restart the process again. They will receive a message that software update is withdrawn. You will then receive a new notice to try the update again
