Food and textiles: are you already scanning with X-Spect?

With X-Spect, we are currently developing the visionary concept of a multifunctional scanner. It recognizes invisible information of surfaces and materials. These are useful in many daily household decisions. The handy device captures specific textile or food characteristics via the integrated sensor. X-Spect can provide you with numerous insights and send the washing program directly to your washing machine or the cooking settings to your oven. So you are not only well-informed, but also sure that nothing can go wrong.

New perspectives: X-Spect analyses food

With X-Spect you get a whole new perspective on the ingredients with which you cook daily. In fact, your diet can benefit from the innovative scanner. How old are the eggs in the fridge? Is the fruit – such as mango, apple or peach – ripe enough? What kind of meat is in those meatballs? How much sugar is in that cake? What is the fat content of that cheese? In future X-Spect will be able to answer all those questions and others in an instant. X-Spect checks the ripeness and nutrition of food in order to help you to manage your supplies effectively and to make you understand what you are eating.

X-Spect: a genuine all-rounder

X-Spect is not only handy and intuitive to use, but will also be your personal laundry consultant in the future. Using an integrated optical sensor, the scanner captures your textiles, their composition of natural or synthetic fibers as well as the respective colors. Even the exact type of stain remains no secret with X-Spect. For laundry care with washing machines and tumble dryers linked via Home Connect, X-Spect recommends the right washing program for every type of textile in seconds. The smart scanner also stops you from putting the wrong garments in the chosen washing program. Eventually, X-Spect also provides the right recommendation for a gentle drying of the laundry.
